Amy J. Partin brings a strong leadership background to her role as Chief Operating Officer of The Empowerment Institute for Michigan. She is committed to empowering individuals and building thriving communities through leadership, civic engagement, and public service.

Prior to joining the institute, she served as Senior Vice President and the first female member of the Board of Directors at The Christman Company, a commercial construction manager and real estate developer. Leading a 27‑member team across five states and eight offices, Amy guided corporate strategic planning and oversaw marketing, business development, and government affairs. During her thirteen‑year tenure, she helped grow revenue from $465 million to over $2 billion and launched a new service line supporting the K-12 educational community.

Earlier in her career, Amy was an executive within the Michigan Department of Technology, Management, and Budget. Deployed to the Governor’s office, her team worked across 18 state agencies to advance public‑private partnerships and service improvement initiatives. She began her public service career as an aide, caseworker, and campaign manager for a U.S. Congressman.

Amy is Past Chair of the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce, serves on the Executive Committee of the Wharton Center for Performing Arts Advisory Board, and participates in the Senior Advisory Team of the Lansing Community College Office of Empowerment. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy and a Master of Public Administration from Michigan State University, graduating with honors.
